The Boats
Uhuru
Is a Walker 14’ built in 1973. Gunter rigged with roller reefing on the jib. Clinker planked in mahogany with all copper nails and roves fastened to steamed oak timbers with bronze rudder hangings, a metal lifting centre plate and all wooden mast and boom. She is varnished throughout and is a joy to look at and sail. It is believed only a dozen of these beautifully built wooden boats remain.
Jasmin
Is an exceptional example of a Yachting World Day Boat, number 507, built in 1971. She has a varnished mahogany and pine hull on steamed oak timbers, copper fastened with varnished mahogany side decks, transom, thwarts, varnished mast and boom and pine floors with a lifting metal centre plate.
Windrush
Is a roomy 15’ Whisstock designed Yawl constructed of marine ply and mahogany epoxy. Although her hull was built in 2000 she wasn’t fitted out with her spars and sails until 2007 so she is in effect a brand new boat. She is very comfortable and has a lifting metal centre plate bronze and brass fittings and built in buoyancy compartments.
The boats are Licensed by Carrick District Council
